Taxes

The SpaClub WordPress Theme includes a powerful and flexible Tax Management system. It allows administrators to define taxes that are automatically applied to appointment bookings, invoices, and checkout totals. Once configured, taxes are calculated automatically based on the booking amount.

1. Access Taxes

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to SpaClub > Appointment.
  3. Click on the Taxes menu.
  4. You will see the list of all configured taxes.

This page allows you to manage all tax rules that will be applied during appointment booking.

2. Tax Listing Page

The tax listing table displays the following information:

  • Name – The name of the tax (e.g. GST, VAT, Service Tax).
  • Amount – The tax value (percentage or fixed).
  • Status – Indicates whether the tax is enabled.
  • Action – Options to edit or delete the tax.

Only enabled taxes will be applied during appointment booking.

3. Add New Tax

To create a new tax, click the New Tax button located at the top-right corner.

A popup form will appear with the following fields:

  • Name – Enter a clear tax name.
  • Amount – Enter the tax value.
  • Tax Type – Choose Percentage (%) or Fixed amount.
  • Status – Enable or disable the tax.
Add Tax

Click Save Changes to activate the tax.

4. Tax Types

SpaClub supports two tax calculation types:

  • Percentage (%) – Tax is calculated as a percentage of the booking amount.
    Example: 12% GST on $150 = $18
  • Fixed – A fixed amount is added to the booking total.

5. Tax on Frontend Appointment Form

Once a tax is enabled, it is automatically applied on the frontend appointment booking form. Customers do not need to take any action to apply tax.

  • Tax is calculated based on the selected service price.
  • The tax amount is displayed clearly in the Booking Summary.
  • The total amount updates automatically when tax is applied.

For example, if a service costs $150 and a 12% GST tax is enabled, the tax amount will be calculated as $18 and added to the total automatically.

6. Managing Taxes

  • Edit a tax to update its value or type.
  • Disable a tax to temporarily stop applying it.
  • Delete a tax if it is no longer required.

Any changes made to taxes will immediately reflect on new appointment bookings.

Tip: Use clear tax names so customers can easily understand charges in the booking summary.
